About ME

Hello, I’m Keysha "Key" Darby, and serving others has always been at the heart of who I am. My life’s work has been dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and empowering individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and discover their God-given purpose.

With more than 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, I have served as a Facilitator and Liaison in a variety of settings, including group homes, inpatient facilities, and juvenile programs. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with young girls, women, survivors of sex trafficking, and individuals facing complex life circumstances. I have facilitated one-on-one support sessions, advocated for women both locally and globally, and helped connect individuals with the resources needed to move forward with hope and confidence.

My greatest passion has always been empowering young girls and women to recognize their worth, embrace their strengths, and become confident leaders in their own lives.

Mae's Place was born from that passion and purpose. It was created to be a safe, welcoming space where youth and women can find encouragement, support, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth. It is a place where individuals are empowered to discover their potential and inspire others to do the same.

The journey of creating meaningful change is not always easy. It is filled with moments of triumph and challenge, joy and heartbreak. Yet each experience has strengthened my commitment to helping others find hope, healing, and purpose. If even one life is positively impacted through this work, then every step of the journey is worthwhile.

Mae’s Place is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status and is founded on the principles found in Galatians 5:22–23.
